Derived from the Latin word 'Imperāre', IMPERIA means a supreme rule. Supreme not in terms of strength but to emerge victorious on field in terms of ability, creativity and vitality. About
College
St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru is historically the first Catholic Women's College established in 1912 in Mangalore, South India, and the second in the country. It is a premier institution that has, from its inception, imparted higher education to the women of South India. It has since proved to be a standard-bearer in the field of educational service. For the past 101 years, it has provided many opportunities to its students to develop their interests in various academic disciplines and areas beyond academics. In 2017, the college secured an A+ grade from NAAC with a CGPA 3.65 out of 4. It was also recognised as a ‘College of Excellence ’ by the UGC. The college has received Star College Status by DBT, MST, Govt. of India. To promote academic excellence in teaching and research, the Management of St Agnes College has accepted the status of academic autonomy for the college since 2007.
Our institution always tries to achieve excellence in the field of education and has worked towards building a unified structure of support for the practice of academic activities, music, dance, drama and debate by conducting seminars, conferences, and workshops. Since its establishment, fests covering various areas of Science, Arts, Commerce and Management have been organised. This is to enable our able student body to challenge and be challenged by the youth of different colleges from every nook and corner of India.
